An essential aspect of our mission as Rotarians is building meaningful connections within our community. Rotary events and engagements are more than just gatherings; they are opportunities to strengthen our bonds, expand our networks, and make a tangible impact.
Let's use this season to connect with people and network to build our club. Networking can be intimidating so here are some simple tips.
1. Be Present: Engage wholeheartedly in conversations. Listen more than you speak and show genuine interest in others.
2. Identify Shared Values: Look for common ground—shared goals, passions, or causes—to foster deeper connections.
3. Follow Up: A quick email, a handwritten note, or even a message on LinkedIn can turn a brief encounter into a lasting relationship.
Let’s use the social events we all have to not just meet people, but truly connect and build meaningful relationships.
December is a magical time filled with celebration and joy, but for some, it can also be challenging. It’s a season that invites us to slow down amidst the hustle and reflect on the power of meaningful connections.
I want to challenge you to not be so busy you can't be present in the moment. Kindness is free. Kindness benefits us all! A small act of kindness can make a world of difference. Here are a few ways to spread kindness:
- Check In: Reach out to someone who might be struggling this season.
- Be Generous: Whether it’s your time, a thoughtful gift, or simply kind words,
- Create Moments: Share meals, volunteer together, or simply enjoy the presence of loved ones.
Let’s remember the heart of this season: connection, compassion, and community.
